The McKinney Cheerleaders are a group of five high school cheerleaders who basically went mad with power. They weren’t disciplined for abusive behavior towards teachers, coaches and fellow students. The football coach was allegedly afraid of them and they were called “real life Mean Girls.” The McKinney Independent School District has hired an independent third party to look into the McKinney North High School cheerleading team and student body after several students were accused of inappropriate conduct. Harry Jones' report and press quotes have detailed some pretty unbelievable stories about how intimidating these girls really were to everyone around them. I posted an excerpt of the report below, and here are a few more interesting comments...

The pouting teenagers were guilty of intimidation, threats, "telling teachers to shut up, using a cell phone in class even after being told not to, cheating on tests, skipping school," added Mr Jones, who interviewed 75 pupils, teachers, parents and school administrators.
Pranks included commandeering Ms Ward's mobile telephone and sending racy text messages to her husband and another coach, and posting sexually provocative pictures of themselves on MySpace, the social networking website. Previous coaches had also complained. One left her post after the head teacher's daughter made an obscene gesture from the sidelines during a football match; another walked out after some of the girls were caught drinking but escaped punishment.
"These girls were at the top of the food chain, they were 'uber-cool', they had the looks � some of them had the money," said Mr Jones. "I talked to a real good-looking football coach and he was obviously scared of them. He had taught inner-city school kids in San Francisco and he said gang members were nothing compared with these girls."

Hard to believe these girls were able to get away with so much. So who do you blame for this mess? The teachers? The parents? The school administrators? The girls???

Well, I expect teachers and coaches to do their jobs and maintain order in a school. The McKinney school administration should be ashamed of themselves!!!!
I expect parents to raise their children to respect authority and hold them accountable for thier actions when they don't. If parents would do that much, schools would be able to maintain order. Instead, parents make excuses for their children, challenge discipline measures, and often even perpetuate the bad behavior themselves. It starts with parents. Schools have to work with the product offered by the parents, which is typically sub-standard and out of control kids who are beyond accountability.
Yes, but teachers and coaches and principals need to hold up their end
of the bargain. If the parents are not notified, how can they be
expected to help? If the school doesn't discipline students, and let's
students run wild through the school, what is a parent to do?
It's clear the parent WERE told about their daughters... they just chose to do little or nothing. Until the situation completely lost control. I feel bad for the teachers and staff who had to put up with these girls for four years because one of those girls was the principal's daughter. Shame on McKinney North High School's administration.
Shame on the parents and the school. If the parents like there
children being lil sluts then great. I say let them be the best lil sluts they can be because they never will be nothing but that. They dont represent the good teenagers out there.
I'm glad that the coach didn't let them get away with it. I think that it is great that the little slut girls got put in their place.
