Brachydactyly, better known as clubbed thumb, is a medical condition where the thumbs are shorter and stubbier than they should be. Megan Fox brought attention to the affliction when she complained in the summer of 2009 that her thumbs are stubby. The confession came as the actress was being praised by media outlets worldwide for her natural beauty.

Fox's affliction gained renewed attention recently when it was revealed that while shooting a Motorola ad that aired during the Super Bowl, Fox used a hand double while shooting close-ups of her using the phone so that people wouldn't see her thumbs. The medical term brachydactyly literally means "shortness of the fingers and toes," according to Wikipedia.org.

Brachydactyly is a genetically inherited trait that is often dominant. Megan Fox suffers from Type D brachydactyly. The trait has also been noted in people with Down's Syndrome and Cushing Syndrome.
