Meghan McCain Reveals Horrific Dating Stories

In the wake of her father's unsuccessful presidential campaign, Meghan McCain finds dating difficult. How difficult? She writes on her Daily Beast blog: "At this point, my biggest aphrodisiac is an apathetic attitude toward politics." (Read the whole thing here.)

That's because she's apparently been on dates with all manner of creep, douchebag and social climber in the last few months, and they can't keep their mouths shut about her lineage.

She describes the equally maddening experiences of having to listen to a guy's explanation for why he voted for Barack Obama, or why he's John McCain's all time greatest fan. She says she can usually spot within 30 seconds any guy who just wants to date her for bragging rights, but who can predict the weird kinks she runs into?
One extreme fan of my mother’s recently told me I could be “his Cindy.” And then asked me if I ever wore pearls because they probably would look as good on me as they do on my mother. No, I'm not kidding. Any guy that has a fetish for older women in pantsuits and large pearls obviously only finds my last name attractive about me. In another story, Meghan says she went to dinner with a guy who called her food order a "maverick choice," and told her "Wow, straight talking must run in the family."

It's hard not to feel bad for someone who has had to sit through that conversation.

Meghan says that dating was fun in college, and it should be. Maybe her problem is that she's seeing too many guys who actually have some knowledge and opinions about current events. I'm sure her friend Heidi Montag could fix that if she would just hook Meghan up with someone as mindless and hunky as her beau Spencer Pratt.
