Breast cancer survivor Melissa Etheridge weighed in on the controversy in Hollywood over the new US mammogram guidance. Etheridge, 48, joined fellow stars and survivors, Olivia Newton John and Jaclyn Smith, in cautioning against the guidance which raises the age of a woman’s first mammogram screening from 40 to 50. Etheridge, who was attending the American Music Awards, said: “We have gotten ourselves into a big, deep hole in the way that we look at healthcare. "The Oprah Winfrey Show" did their weekly live show on Friday, and Oprah welcomed Melissa Etheridge and her wife to discuss gay marriage and Proposition 8. During their conversation, we learned that Melissa's wife Tammy Lynn Michaels doesn't seem to be so concerned about getting married. Instead, she just wants the Etheridge family to have the same rights as straight couples.
