Poem, "Lioness Winter"

"Lioness Winter," by Charmane Rae Kelley

Snow storms that pounce;

Burying all close

To it’s earthly womb;

Claiming a few lives

To feed it’s young;

Then giving birth

To Spring

If you think about it, a winter storm could be compared to a Lioness! Snow storms do seem to come on rather suddenly, pouncing like a Lioness does to kill to feed it's young.  -Charmane Rae Kelley, 8/15/07
