Meredith Emerson's body found

Meredith Emerson , the young female hiker who went missing on New Years day, was finally found. Unfortunately, her body was found in northern Georgia and it was clear to authorities that she had been murdered. She died of a blunt force trauma to the head and was later decapitated. Gary Michael Hilton , 61, is being charged with her murder. If found guilty, he may potentially be eligible for the death penalty. Hilton led investigators to her body Monday, officials said. Meredith Emerson clothing found

Police found clothing that probably belonged to Meredith Emerson, the missing hiker in Georgia. The clothing had "substantial amounts of human blood" on it and was found in a trash bin Meredith Emerson was last seen hiking with her dog on Blood Mountain in Georgia on New Year's Day. The bloody clothes were found next to the supermarket where Meredith Emerson's dog was found on Friday. A black leather wallet that contained Meredith's Georgia driver's license and student ID from the University of Georgia also was found.  Read Full Story

Meredith Emerson is a 24 year old woman who is reported missing. She was last seen on a hike with her dog in the mountains of northern Georgia. Linked from http://www.transworldnews.com/NewsStory.aspx?id=32092&cat=14 --- Emerson’s 95 Chevrolet Cavalier was found yesterday, abandoned by the base of Blood Mountain. Rescue workers searched all day for Emerson yesterday, but failed to find anything. A Georgia State Patrol helicopter was unfortunately not used due to the high winds and searchers stopped at dark.
