The off-season was tough for Miami Dolphins safety Courtney Bryan. When he was cut from the team after last season, he had nowhere to go. Five teams worked him out, but none of them picked him up for the 2008-2009 season.

"I didn't know what to do," Bryan told the Miami Herald. "I wasn't in school. People were like, 'Hey, you played football, that's cool, but I'm not going to hire you.'" Only 11-credits from completing his bachelor's degree at New Mexico State, it was too late for Bryan to register for classes. So, Bryan did what any person in his situation would do, he got a job, at Arby's.

"I didn't know what to do," Bryan told the Miami Herald. "I wasn't in school. People were like, 'Hey, you played football, that's cool, but I'm not going to hire you.'"

So, Bryan returned home to Oakland, Calif., started taking online classes to finish up his college degree and picked up a job a the fast-food restaurant known for its roast beef sandwiches.

Bryan maintains the job was more out of boredom than a need for money. "It's not like I was broke," he said. "I was bored. I couldn't go to movies everyday."

Well, he's not bored anymore. Although the Dolphins are doing better than last season (they went 1-15) their special teams apparently needs help, which is why Bryan was resigned to the Dolphins on Monday.

Bryan got the call from Dolphins' vice president of football operations, Bill Parcells on Monday letting him know the team had a spot for him.

There are two conditions to his resigning with Miami, the first is that Bryan will only play on special teams and the second is that he will take the spot of recently cut safety Brannon Condren.

After going from the NFL to Arby's, something tells me Bryan won't have a problem with these conditions.
