Michael Mukasey in George Bush's next attorney general nominee. However, Republican senators, including John McCain and Lindsey Graham, say that Mukasey's refusal to define waterboarding as torture raises doubts about whether he should become the nation's top law enforcement official.
Michael Mukasey: The Best Attorney General the PharMafia Could Ever Hope For
I documented and reported numerous allegations of Sarbanes Oxley violations, Fraud, Fraud Cover-up, and Retaliation, in a 12 page letter (with dozens of pages of supporting documents), to J&J Attorney Taysen Van Itallie. Van Itallie refused to act on my allegations and stopped returning calls to my Attorney. I also sent numerous additional emails to Van Itallie regarding the ongoing fraud, fraud cover-up, and retaliation. Van Itallie refused to reply to my emails, or to take action to stop the ongoing fraud and retaliation.
Taysen Van Itallie covered up the extensive fraud and retaliation that I reported to him.
Taysen Van Itallie is Associate General Counsel of Johnson & Johnson with responsibility for all litigation.
The good old boy relationship between J&J Attorney, Taysen Van Itallie and Attorney General, Michael Mukasey, goes way back.
Michael Mukasey graduated from Columbia University in 1963.
Taysen Van Itallie graduated from Columbia University School of Law in 1977.
Mukasey was a lawyer with the New York City law firm of Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler from 1976 to 1987, and rejoined the firm from 2006 to 2007
Van Itallie was a lawyer with the New York City law firm of Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler from 1977 to 1996.
At Patterson Belknap, Mukasey's practice areas included Litigation and White Collar Defense and Investigations.
At Patterson Belknap, Van Itallie’s practice areas included litigation in the fields of product liability, antitrust, patent, employment and general commercial litigation.
Attorneys from the NYC office of Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler are currently representing Johnson & Johnson in Re: Pharma Industry AWP MDL.
I estimate that damages to J&J in Re: Pharma Industry AWP MDL, for Medicaid fraud alone, could easily reach $11 Billion.
Mukasey was confirmed by a 53-40 vote of the Senate and took office on 9 November 2007.
Bush used strong-arm tactics to get Mukasey's appointment confirmed - Bush: You Get Mukasey or No One at All. "President Bush issued an ultimatum of sorts on Thursday over his embattled nominee for attorney general, Michael Mukasey, who refuses to say whether he considers waterboarding a form of torture. Bush said if the Democrats block the nomination, it “would guarantee that America would have no attorney general during this time of war.”"
So Mukasey passed Bush's litmus test; he refused to say that waterboarding is torture, and he will not prosecute anyone for violating US and International laws regarding torture. In addition Bush got a man who will protect the PharMafia from criminal prosecution.
Senator BERNIE SANDERS view on Mukasey. (BUSH DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE CONSTITUTION)
Mukasey: Waterboarding is Torture if It's Torture
When all was said and done though, Bush got his yes man....
