Michael Eddy Wilson has been fired from his job as a girls basketball coach and P.E. teacher after officials at Butler High School discovered an inappropriate relationship between he and one of his basketball players, they announced Tuesday.

Wilson's behavior first aroused concern when students started telling their parents that a friend was carrying on a relationship with the coach. After investigating, school officials say they found that not only did Wilson have a long history of texting and talking to the girl, but he was also charging students to get out of gym class activities, and for better grades.

From WHAS-TV in Benlo, KY:
“We did after reviewing records and evidence confirms that there was indeed an improper relationship going on with the student.  I know everyone is asking if that means was there a sexual relationship, we were not able to verify that,” says JCPS spokesperson Lauren Roberts.

From the investigation it indicates that students were being charged $3 to not participate in some activities like running and in a couple of cases there were students who said their grades were improved based on paying.
