A Michael Jackson autopsy picture has been leaked. Gerald Posner over at The Daily Beast says that he recently got a phone call from someone who allegedly has a picture of Jackson on the autopsy table.

Posner’s source indicates that the image is “not a cellphone picture,” explaining that the “quality was far too good.”

The rumors have been traced back to a restaurateur in Los Angeles, quoting people who had allegedly seen the Michael Jackson autopsy picture and described the “shocking” photo:

It features only Jackson’s head and shows his shaved skull and wide open eyes. His eyebrows are tattooed and skin is ashen in color. His lips are flat, wide and without lipstick. A scar on his left cheek is visible because concealing makeup had been cleaned from his face. Jackson is lying on his back on a metal autopsy table.

What’s sad about this rumor is that, if such a picture does indeed exist, it’s being said that it would easily fetch over $1 million for worldwide rights.

If the Michael Jackson autopsy picture is real, however, then whoever distributes it had better be ready for some legal troubles as the L.A. coroner and police department might very well get involved.

Michael Jackson’s unexpected death back in June at the age of 50 triggered mourning among fans and a firestorm of speculation as to its cause. Jackson’s “This Is It,” a concert film documenting his rehearsals for a planned world tour of the same name, is currently in theaters.
