Michael Vick was training pit bulls for fighting. On July 18th, 2007, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was indicted by a federal grand jury and charged with competitive dogfighting. The Atlanta Falcons have gotten a lot of bad press since the story broke.

Earlier this week, Hector, one of 51 dogs rescued from Mike Vick's Bad Newz Kennels, visited a 3rd grade class in St. Paul. Hector is a registered therapy dog, and one of his owners, Clare Yori, was with Hector and teaching the kids about careing for animals and not abusing them. The students' teacher said she hopes the lessons they learned from Hector help the students to treat animals -- and people -- more compassionately. The video is well worth watching. Michael Vick, an ex-National Football League superstar before going to jail for his role in a dogfight ring, was greeted with boos Sunday in his return to Atlanta with the Philadelphia Eagles.
