Earlier this week, I passed along an item from Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini suggesting that Kansas City Chiefs LB Mike Vrabel had coaching in his future.

Mangini told Cleveland reporters, "I imagine he’ll eventually go into coaching and he’ll be outstanding." And then, later in the same media session, said, "He knew the defense, not just his assignment, knew the defense, could draw up the defense, could coach the...

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addresses the media during his press conference at Gillette Stadium on Friday, December 18, 2009.
BB:Alright, a couple days outside, this should be close to what we'll get in Buffalo. It's good to get out there and get some fresh air. [It's a] division game, [it's] been a long time since we've played them. It's interesting - when you play a team the first game of the season and then pretty close to the last...

FOXBOROUGH (AP) — New England Patriots running back Fred Taylor seems set to face his former team after missing 10 games with an ankle injury.
Taylor participated fully in practice yesterday for the first time since being sidelined. The Patriots play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who released Taylor after 11 seasons in which he became their top career rusher.

Pats Lose by 1 Point, 1 Yard & 1 Throw
They got what they deserved.
Crucial 4th-and-1 and they couldn’t punch it home.
Quick snap when Brady saw one-on-one coverage on Moss in the end zone and throws short. (Give Vonte Davis credit; he made a veteran move and sealed Moss from the catch.)
The Pats didn’t just lose by 1—they lost by at least 14 points they left on the field.
How do the Patriots lose a game in which Tom Brady throws for 350 yards...

It was halftime and I made a plan.
I decided the New England Patriots weren't going to lose, which they didn't, and that they deserved, well, a "Pat" on the back.
Pun intended.
The Pats beat the Bills for the 13th straight time, 17-10, yesterday in Buffalo. There hasn't been a lot of back-slapping of the Patriots from here at 100 Turnpike St. in North Andover since that fourth-and-2 play in Indy.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- Turns out there's nothing wrong with Randy Moss or the New England Patriots that facing their perennial patsy, the Buffalo Bills, can't fix. Doesn't mean it was pretty. A week after being accused of quitting by Carolina Panthers defenders, Moss bounced back with five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown in a 17-10 win

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — So much for all those accusing Randy Moss of quitting. Same thing for anyone wondering whether the New England Patriots are vulnerable this season.
No matter how inconsistently the Patriots have played — particularly on the road — or what distractions they've faced, one thing remains constant: They can always count on beating their perennial patsy, the Buffalo Bills.

A few years back, it was then head coach of the New York Jets Eric Mangini who blew the whistle on the New England Patriots videotaping practices that ultimately launched SpyGate. If you're wondering if there's any resentment between Mangini, and his former colleagues in New England, it sure doesn't sound like it.
Mangini heaped praise upon Chiefs LB Mike Vrabel, who was with the Patriots at the same time as...

Many would argue that the New England Patriots’ slide began that fateful Sunday vs. the Indianapolis Colts when Bill Belichick decided to go for it on fourth-and-2 at the end of the game, but his biggest mistake was sending four players home from practice last week -- and alienating Randy Moss in the process.

During his eight seasons with the Patriots, linebacker Mike Vrabel knew only meaningful December games that were played either to get his team into the playoffs or set it up for a postseason run. In his first season with the 3-9 Chiefs, Vrabel is finding out how the other half lives. His late-season games, including Sunday’s meeting with Buffalo at Arrowhead Stadium, aren’t for playoffs but pride.

Happy Friday! Can't say more as the room is still spinning a little. Good time last night. There are a million stories out there, but nearly all of them are rehashing the looming blackout. Nothing new. Now your news.
Over his 13-year NFL career, linebacker has been Mike Vrabel’s football home.
But every once in awhile, Vrabel gets to play tight end; it started in 2002 with the Patriots and has continued through this...

The New England Patriots need just one more win to reach the playoffs. Going far in the postseason will require substantial improvement. An unimpressive 17-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday won't send the hopes of Patriots fans soaring. "We didn't have the kind of consistency we'd like to have in any area," coach Bill Belichick said Monday.
