Mikhail Youzhny defeated Horacio Zeballos 6-1, 7-6 to reach the second round at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow. Youzhny had eight aces and converted four of nine break points. The Russian came into Moscow in strong form, having reached the final of the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships two weeks ago. Mikhail Youzhny rallied past Daniel Brands 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the final of the BMW Open. Youzhny will play Tomas Berdych, who beat Jeremy Chardy 6-1 5-7 6-2 .
