The sad news is that Kelly could be leaving The Office. The amazing news is that it's because Mindy Kaling has a new development deal to create her own comedy! All together now, PopWatchers: Hell yes.
Kaling told Variety she hasn't settled on an idea yet -- could be a workplace comedy, could be a buddy show a la Flight of the Conchords -- but I'm hoping there's some kind of style or shopping angle because Kaling's (mostly defunct) shopping blog was one of my all-time faves. I saw her do stand-up a few months ago, and she was totally charming, plus I was nuts for her one-episode "House Poor" web series.
