The Twins' much anticipated farewell to the Metrodome turned into a "see you later" Sunday when the team extended its final season in the franchise's quirky home for at least one more game. It was the last regularly scheduled Twins game in the building some affectionately remember as the Thunderdome and others deride as the Metrodump. But the planned send-off was premature because the Twins' win pushed the team into a Tuesday tiebreaker against the Detroit Tigers, the AL Central's co-leader after 162 games. "It's just not meant for this Dome to be closed yet," outfielder Denard Span said. For 28 seasons, Twins fans ... Read Full Story

Photo: David Harvey, Flickr We crossed a line in the turf this month when the publicly owned place where the Minnesota Vikings (alone, now) play was renamed “Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.” Let the re-branding of one of Minnesota’s greatest statesmen begin. On the day between the bet and the game, the New York Times published an expose on the serious health hazards of hamburger meat, focusing on a Minnesota victim and corporation and a processor in Wisconsin. The Times article probed the source of ... Read Full Story

Minnesota Vikings The Vikings have a very good defense, a tremendous tandem of running backs, but no real quarterback to speak of. Tavarris Jackson "may" be good, but still needs a little seasoning and help at wideout . Berrian is good at times, but also has the tendency to disappear . The arrival of Sage Rosenfels gives Jackson another hill to climb along with his coach Brad Clueless. With enough jacking around the Vikings will completely wash Jackson out of the league sooner rather than later. With that said, the Vikings defense and running game are plenty enough to keep them in contention for ... Read Full Story

Mall of America Field 3:15 P.M. CST FOX Sirius Channel: 125 Opp:  Daily Norseman It is getting increasingly harder every week to find the silver lining for the Bears chances of getting a win and then do how bad do I want them to?  Do I think that the slim chances that the Bears could lose bad enough that they eat  Lovie's contract and shell out 10 mil a year for Cowher is enough reason to root for them to lose?   But somehow...
