Miss World 2008 - Ksenia Sukhinova

Ksenia Sukhinova from Siberia has been crowned the new Miss World in a glamorous show in Johannesburg, South Africa. The 21-year-old student from the Tyumen region beat 109 rivals. 

Ksenia Sukhinova, was born in 1987(age 21) in Nizhnevartovsk, Russia. She is a student pursuing an engineering degree from the Tyumen Oil and Gas University.
"Miss World 2008 is Russia", announced Julia Morley, head of the Miss World committee that organises the event.
Sukhinova, who took over the title from Miss World 2007 Zhang Zi Lin of China to become the 58th Miss World was crowned after a two-hour long spectacle that combined elements of travelogue and reality show to over 2 billion people in 130 countries.
Ksenia Sukhinova becomes the second Miss Russia to win the global event after Julia Kourochkina took the crown in 1992.
Sukhinova also had won the contest's top model award and was third in the swimsuit competition.

The 1st runner-up was Miss India, Parvathy Onamakuttan and the 2nd runner-up was Miss Trinidad & Tobago, Gabrielle Walcott.
