Over the past 13 years I’ve done a ton of radio, TV and magazine interviews about E-mail Etiquette — the most recent being September’s issue of Real Simple Magazine . And over the years, I’ve had folks ask me plain old etiquette questions that had nothing to do with e-mail. As time would permit, I would offer my advice and input to receive back gracious e-mails of thanks and appreciation for me taking my time and providing good advice. It seems that in our narcissistic culture, folks have questions about etiquette and common courtesies and for some reason they always land at my doorstep. ... Read Full Story

The fact you are reading my Blog shows you care about E-mail Etiquette and Netiquette and have an interest in “communicating with knowledge, understanding and courtesy.” Although I’ve seen a marked increase in the interest level in regard to E-mail Etiquette as of late, there still seems to be overall lack of courtesy from many who e-mail me. I read a recent study that reflected 60-70% of businesses do not offer any sort of E-mail Etiquette Training! No wonder so many employees, customer service reps and business owners themselves seem to not realize the importance of proper practices. In business, on or off-line, impressions are everything. Think about it… off-line you notice what people wear, how they present themselves, the quality or lack there of in regard to their business cards. The very same applies online. As an example, if you e-mail in one liners, do not spell check, do not use proper sentence structure or lack basic grammar, how do you ... Read Full Story
