LG Viewty Smart GC900 launched

LG has announced that the LG Viewty Smart GC900, the phone expected to be called the Viewty II, is now set to ship. The  LG Viewty Smart GC900 is the eagerly awaiting successor to the LG Viewty and is expected to launch across a number of operators in the coming weeks.

We first brought you news that the LG Viewty Smart GC900 would ship in June. However, we can reveal that the Viewty will ship a month earlier in May from Orange. The Viewty Smart makes the most of its HSDPA connecivity by offering download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi and A-GPS.

The  LG Viewty Smart GC900 isn’t just another phone, no, this device takes everything the LG Viewty had and turns it up a notch-or-two. With it’s 8-megapixel camera, 3-inch touchscreen display, 32GB of internal storage and the LG Arena’s 3D S-Class interface, this is as state-of-the-art as you can expect from a phone.

The Viewty II will also be fitted with a Xenon flash and software face recognition, tracking and image stabilization. There will also be manual and auto-focusing on offer, just like the original Viewty. Slow-mo and full speed video can be captured using the camera and the phone will record to DivX. The shutter is also reported to support ISO 1600 ‘film speed’, making it as sensitive to light as a proper digital camera.
