NEW YORK, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Film star Jane Fonda has agreed to headline a new play, marking her first appearance on the Broadway stage in 46 years, representatives for the show said. The Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress is slated to appear early next year in the Tectonic Theatre Project's 33 Variations, which was written and will be directed by Moises Kaufman. After more than four decades, Jane Fonda will be back on Broadway in 2009 after an absence of more than four decades.  The Academy Award-winning actress will reportedly star in “33 Variations,” a play by Moises Kaufman about a present-day musicologist (played by Fonda) and her study of Beethoven’s fascination with a particular piece of music.   Kaufman will also direct.
