Can anybody explain the Pakistan moot mystery? It seems the Pakistani press believes that meet is spelled with a double o instead of e. As in "Microbiology moot planned for December 15" and so on. Why? Is moot somehow shorter than meet? Does the omission of the horizontal bar on the e save precious ink? Does it just sound cooler?It's a mystory to mo.
