Morgan Elizabeth Woolard Wins Miss USA Runner-Up

Morgan Elizabeth Woolard was up against 50 of America's finest ladies Sunay in the Miss USA pageant, and came in as the runner-up. It's not a bad finish, for sure, but word has it that she lost the crown because of her political standpoint. Many think it has to do with her support over the controversial Arizona immigration laws, according to NYDailyNews.com.

The crowd broke into boos when the discussion turned to politics and Woolard was asked how she feels about SB 1070. She said: "I'm a huge believer in states' rights. I think that's what's so wonderful about America. So I think it's perfectly fine for Arizona to create that law."

 

She also said she is against recial profiling in the discussion portion of the evening. The crown ended up going to Rima Fakih, Miss Michigan. She is the first Arab-American woman to win the pageant.
