All I Want for Christmas Is a Porg, and the World Is With Me
'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' has put Porgs on the map, and we are all about it.
If you've yet to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi, rest assured that there are many things to love about Episode 8. As expected, the film has already begun breaking the box office, grossing a delicious $45 million on its opening night. But let's all share a moment of realness: the thing (or creature) featured in the flick that deserves the most love is undeniable. If you disagree, you're wrong.
Behold the Porg:
Now, Porgs are far from news. For months, the chubby, snuggly little puffin/dogs (open for debate) have been dominating the web in all their portly glory. But after the film's theater release on Friday, the world has finally been officially introduced to them, and just about no one is disappointed.
The Porgsession is so complete that there are now t-shirts to celebrate their arrival. You can be both nerdy and festive, and who needs more out of life?
Even Twitter agrees that Porgs are the real MVPs...
... and, if you haven't noticed, the little guys are currently taking over your local theater.
Sure, there were some skeptics before the film hit the public, but even the most discerning Star Wars fans have been converted.
And you know Funko is on top of it:
Here's to the Porgification of America.
