By Zeus’ beard, it seems Rene Russo – one of Hollywood’s leading ladies of the 1990s – has joined the cast of Kenneth Branagh’s Thor . Even more interesting is her character name: Frigga. She will be playing Thor’s stepmother and wife to Odin (Anthony Hopkins).

OK, I admit I wasn't thrilled with the Avatar trailer (and the fact that it was on TV every 15 minutes didn't help), but there's so much buzz around it that I think I gotta see it, and in 3-D. Plus James Cameron's track record and limited output makes practically every film a milestone. And that brings up the next question: What's your favorite James Cameron film? THE summer action blockbuster G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra has so far brought in $300million globally and has also proved a massive boost for the action figures on which the film was based.

Anthony Hopkins has signed on to star in Marvel Studios’ upcoming adaptation of “ Thor .”
Hopkins will play Odin, the king of Asgard and the father of Thor and Loki. Chris Hemsworth is playing Thor, Tom Hiddleston plays Loki and Natalie Portman – Jane Foster, his human love interest.
