ZURICH (Reuters) - Engineering giant ABB said on Friday its lawyers would appeal on behalf of Swiss employee Max Goeldi, who has been held in Libya for over a year and was handed a jail term for immigration offences this week. TRIPOLI (Reuters) - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has accepted an Arab League request to calm tension between Egypt and Algeria sparked by their soccer World Cup play-off matches, Libyan state media reported Tuesday. Egypt and Algeria have each accused the other of failing to protect their citizens and property from attacks by rival football fans. STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi called on Friday for the removal of 'unjust' rich-country farm subsidies and more emphasis on helping the poor in world trade talks. Gaddafi, who chairs the African Union and has ruled Libya for 40 years, also urged the creation of a world economic council, saying the Group of 20 did not go far enough.
