In 1999, Ali was crowned "Sportsman of the Century" by Sports Illustrated. He won the World Heavyweight Boxing championship three times, and won the North American Boxing Federation championship as well as an Olympic gold medal. He fought a number of great fighters, including Joe Frazier, George Foreman and Wallace Ritchie.

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali is to visit the Irish town where his great-grandfather emigrated to the United States in the 1800s, the town's mayor said Thursday. Ali, 67, one of the world's greatest boxers after he became the first to win the world heavyweight championship title three times, is to take up a long-standing invitation from the town council to visit Ennis, County Clare. Hulk Hogan Hulk Hogan was promoting his new book My Life Outside the Ring in an interview with The New York Daily News. In the article, Hogan says that he considered taking his own life after downing rum and xanax, but that a phone call from Laila Ali prevented that. Hogan claims that he had the gun and his finger on the trigger when Ali called.
