The Hotel and Restaurant Association has appealed to the Maharashtra government to exempt its members from luxury tax, VAT and cut in electricity charges for at least two years in the forthcoming budget. At least 101 people were killed in Mumbai in terrorist attacks on two luxury hotels as Indian commandos freed hostages held by gunmen at one of the buildings.
