Shakur played all four years at the University of Arizona despite being tempted to enter the draft his after his junior year. He averaged 10.1 points and 5.1 assists per game over those four years. Nevertheless, Shakur went undrafted in the 2007 NBA Draft, but was signed as a free agent by the Sacramento Kings.
