Studio Ghibli will announced their next project on December 16th, but some of you may not know why that’s a big deal.  For those who don’t know, Ghibli is the animation studio founded by Hayao Miyazaki and behind such classics as My Neighbor Totoro, Grave of the Fireflies (the saddest movie ever made), and Spirited [...]  

Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, Kobe will host an art exhibition of Kazuo Oga. This is the art director of such Studio Ghibli masterpieces as My Neighbor Totoro and Princess Mononoke. Visit the exhibition if you want to see the original paintings of these famous anime movies.  

Hayao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli has announced (via GhibliWorld) their next animated film, to be titled Karigurashi no Arrietty aka Arrietty Borrows Everything in English, which is an adaptation of Mary Norton's fantasy classic "The Borrowers." The new feature film will be directed by studio animator Hiromasa Yonebayashi under the supervision of Ghibli maestro Hayao Miyazaki.
