Finding out I was pregnant with my 3rd child was a shock. Going through another rough pregnancy was a shock to my system. Here, I will keep a running journal of my experiences during pregnancy which I'm sure a lot of women can relate to. Feel free to add your own experiences also!
No Patience
I admit that feeling exhausted all of the time and throwing up all day everyday would make anyone a little testy. But I read that mood swings and feelings of irritation are normal during this time of pregnancy due to hormonal changes. It's nice to know that there is another reason why I feel like a raging bitch at times.
I feel bad though because I just don't have the patience to field fifty questions from Big Brother or to chase Dare Devil through out the house all day long. Generally, I just want to curl up on the couch and have no one bother me at all. That's asking too much a realize, but it's a nice thought.
I've been snapping at everybody left and right too. Of course that falls under the mood swings section of my hormonal changes, but again, I feel bad. But seriously, try to imagine feeling really sick and being so tired you're struggling to keep your eyes open. Now on top of that, imagine your seven-year-old continuously going through the list of every kid in his class, and every single person he ever met and asking you when each of their birthdays are. During this, imagine your eighteen-month-old trying to pull the tall lamp in your living room down, then running into another room, shutting the door after him and banging very loudly on it. Also imagine that your husband is holding various ties up to his work shirt and asking which one looks best and by the way did you see his cell phone and could you call the cable people, the cell phone people and the car insurance people today? If you ignore your seven-year-old to answer your husband or to grab the eighteen-month-old from the other room, then your seven-year-old begins his "mom, mom, mom, mom" mantra, getting louder each time he says it until one or both of you are yelling. That is just a glimpse into why I probably start snapping. There's never a dull moment, never a quiet moment to just take a deep breath and talk your way down from having a panic attack or from biting someone's head off.
I'm sure there are other women out there going through the same thing. And it gets harder each time you have more children already in the house.
