Tony Stewart will begin the 2009 NASCAR season as an owner/driver on NASCAR’s biggest stage.
Stewart, who currently has a contract with Joe Gibbs Racing through the 2009 season, will be leaving the organization at the end of the 2008 season. It is believed that he will purchase a 50% stake in Haas CNC Racing and also drive for them next year. Obviously, this is all speculation until the news conference that is scheduled for this afternoon.
