Backup quarterback Brad McGuire rushed for two touchdowns to lead Louisiana-Lafayette to a 21-17 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night. The Ragin Cajuns (6-5, 4-3 Sun Belt Conference) reached six wins and became bowl-eligible for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The Warhawks (6-5, 5-2) are also bowl-eligible but needed a victory to have a chance to share the conference title. Martevious Young threw a career-high four touchdown passes and Southern Mississippi beat Tulsa 44-34 on Saturday night. The Golden Eagles (7-4, 5-2 Conference USA) can earn a spot in the conference championship game with a win Saturday against East Carolina. Young went 12-for-21 for 276 yards. The Golden Eagles led 34-28 at the end of the third quarter and scored 10 unanswered points to put the game out of reach. DeAndre Brown had touchdown catches of 95 and 34 yards.
