Side Notes
- It looks like the Big East will only receive seven bids this year. So much for the possibility of receiving more than at bids as prospected at the beginning of the year
- The RPI is a creditable tool, but one must judge RPI while simultaneously looking at a schedule of the team. This is especially true for the teams in the Mountain West who have incredible RPIs and SOSs because they played conference leaders of minor conferences (such as Utah St. and Weber St.) with impressive records but nearly the same talent as the teams with equivalent talents of those in major conference schools.
- Even though talent and previous performances in the NCAA tournament are not official factors, the selectionist are not pristine of this knowledge. The committee knows Davidson (has Stephen Curry ) and St. Mary's (has Patrick Mills who missed a fair portion of the season) have the ability
- Lastly, I'd like to congradulate all of the graduating seniors for putting in 4 hard years of work, practice, and play.
