Today begins the first match up of the final four NHL teams- Western Conference Detroit vs. Chicago. Most hockey gurus are predicting an exciting playoff series and I'm not going to disagree with them. In Detroit we have the defending Stanley Cup champions who are a team that is skill personified. With the Habs long gone from the playoffs, it's a bit difficult to get excited about the remaining games. The last series brought us some really exciting hockey and you didn't have a stroke or heart attack watching the games because the Habs weren't playing. The conference finals looked to be two more great hockey match ups, but alas that isn't the case. The Penguins have outplayed Carolina at every level from the goal out and it doesn't help the Canes that Crosby and Malkin are firing on all cylinders. It's June 1st and the first two games of the Stanley Cup finals are in the history books and not surprisingly to many fans, the Red Wings are leading the series 2 -0. The Penguins return to Pittsburgh in a hole but still not out of the series.
