Well its done. Yesterday afternoon I finished the first draft of Volume one. Yes, that's right volume one.  

Our intrepid Editorial Director today noted that he and others at Macworld are participating in National Novel Writing Month this year.

In a flash of crazed, half-asleep inspiration, my next ambitious project just came to mind.  

I try to avoid playing them. I got a little obsessive about my novel's word count during NaNoWriMo and the month after: it's of course good to try to maintain a steady pace when working on a large project, and ...  

I've fallen way behind with my NaNoWriMo novel, but last night I decided that I really couldn't give up, and calculated that I needed to write approximately 2.2k a day until the end of the month to finish.  

This is not a question about the nature of the Earth, it's a question about the world where my NaNoWriMo novel for 2007 is currently slated to take place.
