Did Sir Paul McCartney really marry Nancy Shevell this weekend?

Sir Paul McCartney is rumored to have married his girlfriend Nancy Shevell over the weekend, but both parties say that isn't true.

"There's no truth to it," says publicist Paul Freundlich.

Several international tabloids like Sunday Mirror and Sunday Telegraph reported that McCartney decided to marry Shevell after getting the blessing of his children.

Both newspapers reported that the NY State Supreme Court granted Shevell a divorce ending a 23-year union with Bruce Blakeman on December 9. GaySocialites.com has not been able to find any court documents that prove a divorce was granted to Shevell.

McCarthy and Shevell have known each other for at least 30 years, but the couple only recently started dating.
