Natalee Holloway Officially Dead, Judge Rules

Six years after the American teenager disappeared while vacationing in Aruba, a judge has declared Natalee Holloway officially dead. The declaration came at the request of Holloway's father, David. The Associated Press (via FOX News) reported earlier today that Judge Alan King signed the order at a Birmingham courtroom. Natalee's parents, David and Beth Holloway, were in attendance. Natalee Holloway is the Alabama high school student who disappeared in Aruba in 2005, and an underwater photograph taken in October is thought to show her skeletal remains. The picture was taken by a Pennsylvania couple and authorities are expected to investigate the matter, according to Fox News. Joran van der Sloot, who was being treated as a suspect in the death of Natalee Holloway, has confessed to dumping the 18-year-old's body in a swamp in Aruba.
