Tim Ruskell resigned Thursday as president and general manager of the Seattle Seahawks, three weeks before his five-year contract with the NFL team was to end. "Obviously there's great sadness today but I will leave here with great memories of this place and the people. It's been the people for me," Ruskell said. Seattle owners had given Ruskell complete authority to build the club shortly after his arrival prior to the 2005 season. The Seahawks made their only Super Bowl that season, but... Read Full Story

In recent seasons, former coach Mike Holmgren turned grandfatherly during the Seahawks' bye weeks. Turning 60 and already owning a Super Bowl ring, he boldly gave his players the entire week off. They'd go on far-flung vacations or just relax and heal at home with family and friends. It was wildly popular, of course, like Spring Break in October. Jim Mora is not Mike Holmgren. Demanding fewer mistakes, and downplaying that a dozen starters have been injured, the Seahawks' new coach has his... Read Full Story
Jim Mora's hometown team just won its first game with him as its coach in a rout, in a shutout no less. Yet Mora still has a list of issues he wants fixed, starting Sunday at San Francisco. "Shoot, it's long," Mora said Monday, a day after the Seahawks beat St. Louis 28-0 for their biggest opening win since 1998. The lengthy list is indicative both of how far Seattle has to go to return to NFC West supremacy following its 4-12 flop last season — and of how far the Rams, 2-15 since the start... Read Full Story

While Knapp was the offensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons from 2004-2006, the Falcons led the league in rushing three straight years. During... Read Full Story
