Vancouver Canucks v Montreal Canadiens

Usually in hockey, it's a huge disappointment when your stick shatters on a breakaway. Honestly, how are you supposed to score with no stick? Most players just quit. Unless of course your Dominic Moore of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who's either:
  1. Awesome at soccer
  2. Freakishly coordinated
  3. Just a serious badass
Either way, Moore pulled an awesome move Saturday as the Leafs took on Vancouver. As his stick broke, Moore tossed it aside, then juggled the puck between his feet before passing it to Jason Blake, who got off a shot, which was stopped by Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo. Seriously awesome. Still, the Maple Leafs lost 3-2 in overtime.

Mac's behind the mike Darren McCarty, below, cleaned up real good for his debut Monday night as a some-time studio analyst for Versus. A sharp suit and tie, hair neatly trimmed and combed -- darn, he even shaved for his new gig. Who was that guy? McCarty, who has retired as a player, was in the studio for Versus' coverage of the Red Wings' game at Nashville. And it didn't take him long -- his pregame comments, in fact -- to figure out whom to put the pressure on in a Wings game. "To me, the main person tonight, Chris Osgood," Mac said. "First ... Chris Osgood has admitted that he hasn't played his best hockey this year. In fact, there was an article in SI that talked about this being the worst year of his career. Needless to say, Red Wings fans have started to question our goalie, and have started to put games in the hands of Jimmy Howard. That hasn't been working out either. Most people would agree that goaltending is the reason the Detroit Red Wings are having such a bad year. Part...

An ebullient mood filled Maple Leaf Gardens today. The roar was not quite as loud as when the Toronto Maple Leafs first won the Stanley Cup here (1932) or when they last won the Stanley Cup (1967). Still, boisterous Ryerson students, faculty and alumni, sitting in folding chairs at centre ice, took up the tune as Stompin’ Tom’s voice echoed through the cavernous arena: “Hello out there! We’re on the air, it’s hockey night tonight; tension...
