We all love natural disaster movies. It's movie magic to see our world blown to smithereens! They tempt us with apocalyptic nightmare scenarios and thrill us with deathly visions. And they don't even have to be world-threateners. Great disaster movies are usually smaller in scope, like Twister, which places us way too close to tornadoes. 

While disaster movies are always fun, they aren't always realistic. The best ones are hopefully grounded in some semblance of reality making the thrills that much more intense.
