If you have really oily skin, like myself, and I have good news. I found a remedy, which will significantly cut down the amount of oil that your face produces.
ALOE Vera Gel!
This stuff is great! I started few days ago, it gets rid of red marks within a few hours, and apply this material before you apply the right makeup.
I did that yesterday and all day I didnt produce a quantity of oil. I have nine hours went without even track down my face again. Normally, I would have set off on my face every few hours.
I know these things to make your skin a little drier. But the keypad is very little use and you just do not get flakes. And that is the key to oily skin. Keep it as dry as possible. I personally do not think that moisturizers should be used on oily skin. Even though they are fat free, they tend to oily skin more oily.
Who agrees?
Reply:I also use Lily of the Desert. It's very good… 99.5% pure. I got mine from GNC. They had various sizes, so I bought a large jar. It was very cheap too. I keep it in my refrigerator–it feels very nice in the summer heat to put on.
Reply:I use Lily of the desert aloe vera gel-99.5%. You can drink this stuff but, I prefer to just use it on my skin. 8 oz. for $2.99. You will find it in health foods section of larger grocery stores. I add one drop of lavender oil to the bottle to make it smell nice. GREAT STUFF!!!!!!

Reply:Heres the scoop on Aloe Vera and Aloe Vera Gel, Juice, etc. Aloe Vera is a remarkable plant with so many healing properties that it remains somewhat of a mystery… It wont cause breakouts, no matter how much you put on, but, it is a drying agent, and if you put too much on your face, it might make your face a little too dry, I use a little amount and my skin looks and feels better than it has since I was 7!!! Be sure to get the 100% – 95% Aloe Vera gel.. it's straight from the plant, and if you really want fresh gel, just go out and buy a plant for about $3… it's a cactus-like plant- easy to take care of since it requires so little water and whenever you need a lil gel to help heal a cut or stuff, just break off a leaf and take the gel from inside! Great stuff, remarkable plant…
Reply:If you look in the back for ingredients, does it only say aloe vera, or does it have other ingredients?
Reply:I bought my 100% aloe vera gel at a health food store. It was in the skin care section.
Reply:So no one here knows which store I can go into and look for this stuff and in which aisle?
Reply:I just did a search online on it and found sites that sell 100% aloe vera gel.
Where do you look for this at stores like Wal-mart? At their skin dept(same place where they have cleansers and stuff)?
My skin is soaked with oil….once I apply make-up(or even without any make-up), it takes my face less than an hour to get totally soaked with oil and shine. ![]()
Reply:Do you think they sell this at Longs? I don't have those stores that you mentioned and never seen 100% or even 90% aloe vera gel. It's very hard to find some of the products most people talk about. But I'll try it because i'm pretty oily. Do you think it'll do something for large pores or blackheads?
Reply:Aloe Vera is an unusual plant. It heals and has many beneficial properties; it's also a moisturizer, yet it primarily is a drying gel. The reason you don't create excess oil is because aloe vera dries your skin. I'm not sure why this is, nor do I understand why people use it as a moisturizer. It seems contradictory. I love aloe vera, but I rarely use it. But hey, whatever works!
Reply:Does using the Aloe Vera Gel cause more break outs? I have oily skin and would love to try it but I also fear that trying something new will further break me out. ![]()
Reply:It's transparent, and no, it won't irritate your skin at all; rather, it'll help it heal.
Reply:im a guy and therefore don't wear makeup, so if i put this aloe vera gel on my face would it be visible, or does it rub in and go unnoticed?
Reply:If you use this Aloe Gel stuff, can you use another acne medicine along with it? like, say you put this stuff on in the morning and use Tazorac at night. Will that work or will it cause irritation?

Reply:I bought mine from Co-op, you can buy it anywhere and its dirt cheap.

Reply:hi mylo, I have SUCH oily skin, i live in canada as well, toronto, where did you buy it?
Thanks!
Reply:WEll I never thought Aloe Vera would stop oilyness. I actually thought it would increase it. Hmmm. Maybe I should try it cause I'm reaaaaaaaaaaally oily. I do knwo that I put aloe on a cut pimple and its healing quite nicely.
Reply:Hey folks.
I use "Best 100% gel" 100% natural. It costed me $4 for 1kg.
I think this stuff is for real. Today I had my makeup on for 14hrs. It was very hot outside, I spent some time in the sun, sweated a bit, went shopping, movies, dinner, friends place, and to a club and dance like nuts for 2 hrs straight.
Wellfor the entire day I never had to pad down my face once. I just got home not long ago, took a look at the mirror and my face looked just like how I left the house. No shine at all!!!!!!!
All I have to say is WOW!!!!!!!!!! Im so relived, I can now go thru the day without having to worry about my shine.
Reply:Hi Folks,
I too like the aloe vera gel. I am using Jasons 98%. It has helped improve my acne damaged skin, and I have only been using it for about 4-5 days. My facial skin has some moderate acne scarring, and is dry, flaky, and looks kind of 'worn' in some places.
I wanted 100% aloe vera gel. But a salesgirl told me you don't get 100% gel, unless you squeeze it yourself out of the plant, so at best you get 99% or so.
The Jason's 98% gel I use also contains allantoin and chlorophyll.
All the Best.
Reply:What brand and where did you buy it? How much does it cost?
Reply:I've found the same thing to be true for me too! I wanted to post something on it too, but I have only been using it for the past couple of days. It is really good to heal the skin as well, which is why I initially used it. It's great!
Reply:What brand do you use?
Reply:Hmmm, I wonder if it would help me out…My skin is really dry and flaky, although at the end of the day I'm all oily. So, I have pretty severe combination skin. I also have red marks and scars too. Maybe if I would just use a little bit of it at a time? What do you think?
