By Cartman on  From bengalsgab.com
ESPN’s AFC North Blog reported that University of Texas Safety Earl Thomas, regarded as one of the top 2 or 3 defensive backs in the draft, is scheduled to visit the team April 1-2: The Cincinnati Bengals will meet with Texas safety Earl Thomas on April 1-2, a source told the AFC North blog Thursday. Thomas is a first-round prospect and widely regarded as the second-best safety in this year’s draft behind Tennessee star Eric Berry. The Bengals have the No. 21 overall pick and safety is...Read Full Story

Tendered Tahi Gets Offer

By Cartman on  From vikingsgab.com
Vikings restricted free agent fullback, Naufahu Tahi, received a tender from the Vikings in the amount of $1.01 million. That offer was out-done significantly by the Bengals as they offered Tahi $1.4 million. Because of the tender placed on Tahi, the Vikings have the right to match any offer he recieves. They have seven days to do so. Tahi, known more for his blocking, only has 15 rushing yards and 44 receiving yards in his 4 year career. He also has one fumble and no touchdowns...Read Full Story

Bengals to Turn Their Attention Back to Safety Williams?

By Cartman on  From bengalsgab.com
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that now with the team losing out on Vikings FB Naufahu Tahi, the team may turn their thoughts back towards former Cowboys safety Roy Williams. The former safety worked out on March 19th, and they liked what they saw from him. The paper says that the situation “should be clarified in the next couple of weeks because everyone should be back from the league meetings and scouting trips.”Read Full Story

Don’t Rule Out Tahi’s Return

By Cartman on  From vikingsgab.com
I was not surprised when the Vikings decided not to tender an offer to (possibly) restricted free agent Naufahu Tahi. The 29 year old fullback has had his struggles with the Vikings and is often on the wrong end of jokes amongst fans. However, ESPN1500 reported a few days back that the team remains interested in retaining Tahi, but they just were not willing to pay him the $1.325 million that would have been required if they tendered him at the lowest amount. Tahi played 15 games in...Read Full Story

Weaver Is The Best Free Agent Available

By Cartman on  From vikingsgab.com
A fullback doesn’t exactly sell tickets. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen fans wearing the jersey of a fullback. Fullbacks make highlight reels only once or twice a season. Some teams don’t even seem to care if they have a fullback on the roster anymore. Seahawk’s free agent fullback, Leanord Weaver, finds himself on top of the list of available free agents after letting the first two weeks of free agency pass by. His four seasons with the Seahawks have been quite productive. He has 356...Read Full Story

Bengals Thought To Be After Tahi Again

By Cartman on  From vikingsgab.com
Last year the Bengals signed fullback Naufahu Tahi to an offer sheet, but the Vikings matched the offer and retained their starter. Try… and try again. According to this item from the Pioneer Press, the Bengals still regret the day they lost Tahi and are looking to sign him to an offer sheet yet again. I would be surprised to see the Vikings let him go without putting up a fight given the lack of fullback options available to them. The Vikings tendered Tahi at the lowest possible...Read Full Story
