The video of the death came through YouTube, and shows the protester clothed in modern clothes wearing jeans and a start to collapse on the floor. An elderly man standing beside it allegedly is the father of the dying and comfort. As Neda collapses, blood could be seen pouring out of her heart on the floor. It lies flat on the floor surrounded by his father and another man who claims to be a doctor and tries to stop the rapid loss of blood from the chest where he was shot. Within seconds of Neda falling on the floor, which appear to lose consciousness ... Read Full Story

The era of Bush neo-con inspired interventionism and the policy positions that stemmed from it was a disaster and we have been left with the consequences. While democracy can't simply be 'exported,' concern about fundamental justice and human rights isn't confined behind borders. It concerns us all as members of the human family. Obama said the world is "bearing witness" to the attacks on civilian protesters by Iranian authorities - and witness we must. On Saturday while the street protest raged in Tehran, a student named Neda Agha Soltani was sitting alongside her music teacher in a car stuck in traffic. It was hot ... Read Full Story

Wow, I have been hearing news about Neda, this 27 year old girl who got shot and killed in Iran for protesting. I think there’s got to be someone who’s going to have to step up and end this merciless bs by the Iranian government. This isn’t a political war any more, it’s about human rights. You don’t kill a girl for protesting peacefully, no matter what she’s protesting about, especially if she has no weapons to fight back. I know this is a tech blog but at times like this I wish I can grab a bazooka and blow the face of whoever ... Read Full Story

Just the picture of this 19-year-old woman dying on the ground sent me into the waiting arms of the horrors, heartbreak and rage. Rage at the slimy little shit who aimed his weapon at Neda Agha Soltani as she was standing next to her father and pulled the trigger. Heartbreak at all she and her father and those around her went through as life left her body. I have a working knowledge of what it is like to be on the ground bleeding profusely after being shot, death pulling me away from the world. The horrors have been in nightmares, difficulty sleeping ,  moments ... Read Full Story
