Released in the U.K. on March 23, The Pet Shop Boys’ latest studio album, Yes , became available on U.S. iTunes and the one Virgin Megastore still left in L.A. on April 21. Based on the U.S. sales of their last album, Fundamental , which placed, at its highest, at number 150 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart, the numbers aren’t looking that stellar for Yes . Following Bob Dylan’s Christmas album comes another surprise festive platter from Pet Shop Boys. The synth maestros aren’t going all-out with a full album of holiday tunes, but are releasing an EP titled Christmas with some choice musical nuggets. There is something strange about the feeling you get when seeing the Pet Shop Boys in concert. It is almost like the time between now and 1986 never passed because their stage spectacle is so unashamedly hedonistic. The only element working against the illusion of being frozen in a decade is the age of the audience and the Pet Shop Boys themselves.
