A community portal about Neon Genesis Evangelion with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: Neon Genesis Evangelion is a popular Japanese anime that began in 1995. The anime was written and directed by Hideaki Anno, and produced by Gainax. It is a post-apocalyptic mecha action series, and references a number of Judeo-Christian symbols from the book of Genesis and biblical apocrypha. Later episodes shift focus to psychoanalysis of the main characters, who display various emotional problems and mental illnesses. Hideaki Anno, the director of the anime series, had suffered from depression prior to creating the series, and the psychological aspects of the show are based on the director's own experiences in dealing with depression and psychotherapy.

Review of an excellent re-envisioning of the 'Evangelion' anime by the series' original director and writer, Hideaki Anno. In 'Neon Genesis Evangelion: 1.01 You Are (Not) Alone', the animation production and design work is updated mostly for the better, and the story promises to expand and follow a new arc.
