JPSO chase of suspect ends in death

Sheriff Newell Normand says that at about 1 a.m. Sunday morning, as officers conducted a narcotics investigation in Marrero, they tried to pull the suspect over.

Deputies say the suspect then exited his vehicle on Highland Meadows Drive and pointed a handgun at officers. Normand says the officers fired at the suspect, who was later pronounced dead on the scene.

The Sheriff said that officers also located drugs inside the vehicle. The JPSO is trying hard not to let

crime get out of control like it is in New Orleans.Guns are nothing to play with.
