Short Hairstyles: Erin O'Connor and Kim Stewart

English model Erin O'Connor isn't a typical beauty. She was a favorite face during the 'imperfect beauty' fashion photography movement of the 1990s for her symmetrical, almost boyish bone structure. Instead of feminizing her look with a long hairstyle, O'Connor famously sports an ultra-mod cut that recalls mod goddess Twiggy and 1960's London.

O'Connor's cut isn't ideal for women with curly hair. It won't fall quite the same without constant and damaging straightening, and would require a lot of upkeep. It is, however, a daring and gorgeous cut for women who want to show off their facial structure.

English party girl Kimberly Stewart, best known for being Rod Stewart's daughter, began sporting a similar, less edgy cut recently.

Kimberly Stewart's mod hairstyle has much more length than O'Connor's style, with enough length for a center part. It isn't quite as striking as O'Connor's almost architectural cut, but helps to soften Stewart's slightly bird-like facial features.

It's a cute choice for Stewart--I much prefer her new mod hairstyle to her old Barbie-doll extensions a la Paris Hilton. It's like choosing between LA and London: London wins every time.
