I ask, what is the right age to buy your child a cell phone? My soon to be third grader, has been pitching Drew and I for a cell phone for a few months now.  Because she has gone on and on about it, we have been forced to think about it and we are trying to figure out when the appropriate time is for her to have a cell phone. There are kids in the third grade at her school that do have cell phones, although keeping up with what others have, has never been important to me, but it does serve as ... Read Full Story

One thing about Drew and I, we do not get out too often.  Let me break that down further for you... we get out, by ourselves for a date, two times a year.  Those two momentous occasions are, 1) New Year's Eve, and 2) Our Anniversary (hence the picture of my rings above).  I have lots of Mama friends that stress to me the importance of Drew and I having our "couple time" and establishing a "date night".  I do remember being a kid, and watching my Mother getting dressed to go out with my Dad, to a party or some kind of event, ... Dear Belle: It's Mama, and I wanted to tell you about a special thing you accomplished this weekend.  There are certain milestones in every child's life, like taking your first step, saying your first word, sleeping through the night, starting nursery school, and making your first friend.  This past weekend you achieved one of those milestones, and it was riding your bike without your training wheels.  Dad and I took you to the park.  We had decided that seven years old was too old to be riding a bike with training wheels.  We had not done much bike riding when you were little, so ...
