Spitzer Had Planned to Resign Yesterday
NY State Governor Eliot Spitzer, who’s embroiled in a sex scandal that threatens his once-promising political future, had planned to resign yesterday, but decided against it at the last minute on the advice of his lawyers. According to ABCNews.com, NY state officials say Spitzer will step down soon. “It’s inevitable; it’s just a question of when,” a cabinet-level state official told ABC. Lt. Gov. David Paterson and his team have reportedly been reviewing organization charts to decide which members of Spitzer’s administration will stay on once he resigns.
