Edison Chen Scandals - Maggie Q dropped Out of Movie Three Kingdoms Promotion ???

Actor Maggie Q dropped Out of Movie Three Kingdoms Promotion for her greed. Maggie Q was to come to HK for movie promo on March 25 to 27, though it was only a short 3 days, just the lodging, transport, clothing, & food she negotiated for a month with the movie company.

She & her entourage together with her manager other than the usual demands, such as first class air ticket, has included many other unreasonable demands, for example 5 star hotels, 24 hr bodyguard, a low rough estimate it will cost at least $250,000 in 3 days!

Other than HK, Maggie Q has to go to China, TW & Korea, she again asks for a lot of things.

For mainland, most movie promo has to go to different provinces, from BJ to Shanghai, Guangzhou & others, but Maggie Q stipulated that she will go to only one of the places, this gives headache to the local movie company!

For Taiwan, Maggie Q also asked for top class treatment, if her demands were met, the expenditure will hit NT 1 million (about $250,000)

TW movie industry is hitting is downturn, box office is always far from ideal, in addition, Maggie Q is not the important actress, she has no box office guarantee, so the concerned party does not concede to her demands.

Also, she said she will not take on Edison Chen sex scandal or respond to the scandal on the ’suspected?nude photos’! But these are must-ask questions of the reporters, the movie company finds it too difficult to handle!

After discussion, all the movie companies decided not to use Maggie Q for movie promo in Asia, the reporter on this confirmed with the company in HK, who disclosed that M Q will not be in HK for any promo activity, & admitted they cannot meet her demands.

The movie company too will have some losses such as booking of air tickets & lodging!

Is it a pity that she cannot come to HK? SunBeam company indicated, “A pity, but there is male lead Andy Lau, this is enough, Andy himself is a box office guarantee, in addition, ROTD is a movie of substance, so we are not worried!”

Maggie Q gives the excuse that she has movie commitments in NY & has no time to come to HK.

whoa never expected that from her but i dont really know her and i dont think she is that famous. she should be happy that she is even getting jobs.

She is not even half of what Andy Lau and Zhang Ziyi is.

What the…she’s not even that famous. how is she “international” status. she was in one movie with tom cruise, so now she’s internationally known? no way…I fully support the company that turned her down. She’s not even that major in the movie, why should she demand so much. gosh, s aslcfvdxcbk.

she sure knows what she wants. but can she get it? ppl who thinks they are on the top of the world cause they had filmed a couple of hollywood movies. some ppl needto stay on the ground, with such a attitude she wont last long. i think she’s just a B-star and a totally miscast
how could they cast a half asian (not even chinese origine) in an ancient chinese role???
her look is way too modern and western

they can always use the excessive demand to engage more artiste for the promo or have more extravagant promo.

Maggie Q is nothing compare to Andy, so might as well use the money to create more freebies / promo item for the movie.

Is it really true that she demand such a thing? I thought she is a very humble young lady and a vegetarians. Anyway, Andy alone is more than enough to secure box office though…..hahaha…i will go for movie because of Andy too and not for others

i didn’t even think that maggie was well-suited for the role in this movie in the first place…she’s just letting the fact that she was in MI3 get to her head but asian countries are not going to stand for her diva attitude…i totally support the companies for not wanting to supply money to maggie for her unreasonable demands

She is not an box office guarantor like Andy Lau so her request should not be entertain

reason i’ll be watching this movie is cause i’m interested in the plot (not sure what’s in about but a fan of 3 kingdoms) and of course andy and sammo. Maggie isn’t all that great, hearing these things coming from B listed stars are a joke.

Good for the movie companies for not bending over for MQ!!! To be honest I liked MQ (emphasize “liked”) but after reading this story I have grown a sudden distaste for her. I can’t stand how actors develop this sense of self entitlement just because they are in a few films. They should consider themselves lucky that people enjoy watching them, and they need to remember that they are always replaceable!!!

This must be a joke. Maggie Q is hardly considered an “International Star”. She is barely known in the states and is only B list at most in Asia. Who does she think she is making these kind of demads here? Sure, maybe in the States she could get away with this kind of stuff since movies like MI3 are multi million dollar investments (but even then I think only Tom Cruise would get this kind of treatment.), but budgets for asian movies are significantly smaller, so they have less money to fritter away on ridiculous demands. She needs to remember that she got to where she is today because she got her start in acting in Asia. If she would have went straight to Hollywood to begin with she would probably be just another nobody today. She should be grateful and not bite the hand that feeds her.

NEVER liked Maggie Q - don’t know why people think she is “hot” - she’s okay - too skinny and her face looks weird. She is over the top of her head - never really accomplished anything in HK entertainment - why should they spend so much money on her? She’s like a lot of Hollywood actresses - appear reallly sexy in one or two movies and think they are everything.

Maggie Q is overrated and should be embarrassed to demand such requests. Also, her manager is worthless for letting her do this. I don’t think Andy Lau makes these kinds of demands and requirements

What? Maggie is like that? I thought she’s a down-to-earth kind of person. I really like her before i heard this rumor. It seems that her head is getting her way passed her status. I mean she’s really good in action films but her attitude being like that is somewhat “who do you think you are.” My point is she’s acting like she’s the queen, demanding stuff but she doesnt have the crown.

Well she has been in a few big films in the US, (Die Hard?!?!) and quite frankly, $250,000 is chicken feed to a studio company. People in the US will still recognise her over the likes of Andy Lau - and THAT is where the big money is, not in little Hong Kong.

I don’t think shes gorgeous and I don’t think she can act either, but this sort of demanding goes on all the time, I don’t see why people should pick on her. I’m sure none of her co-stars are staying at 2 start hotels and eating bread with water.

Hard to say if she actually made all those demands or not but she is probably happy if whatever she asked for got her excluded from the promo tour. Actors hate doing promotions–most of them barely recall the movie they are pushing–few if any have actually watched the movie, since by the time the editing and post-production stuff was done they were working on something else.

Telling an actor that they won’t be touring in support of a movie is something most of them would welcome. That they come off as pleased to be doing so–especially the seemingly necessary stuff about “what a great shoot it was and how we all look forward to working together again” simply shows that they are good at what they do, which is acting.

i guess the magazine i read was accurate when it said that b list actresses are much bitchier than a list actresses. a long time stylist said when she was helping the actresses she witnessed a lot more attitude coming from b list actresses because they want to be popular so badly along with sharing the same “privileges” of bossing ppl around. although it’s really hard in that industry, but i don’t think even a list actresses/actors have the “privilege” of bossing anyone around. the ppl around you are those that either make or break your career. if your demands are too much, they can always chose someone else over you. if she really wants to make it onto the a list, then she’ll have to learn a little something called respect and humbleness.

Wow, one report about the celebrity and everyone believe it, lol…I don’t know whether to believe or not…when it comes to news about celebrity, there is truth and lies. What is truth and what is lies? So I can’t really judge by this, i have to see two side of the coin before I could jump to conclusion…
