Was Nick Jonas Involved in Miley & Justin's Breakup?

Disney songstress Miley Cyrus, 16, has broken up with her boyfriend of 9 months, Justin Gaston, 20, E! Online reports.

The pair fueled speculation of a rift when they both Tweeted about their broken hearts over the weekend. Miley wrote, "Tears are the words that the heart can't express," and "why does saying goodbye hurt so much?", while Justin tweeted, "How many tears are in there? They've gotta run out soon right?"

Unsurprisingly, there are already rumors of another party involved in the breakup: a Mr. Nick Jonas.

E! claims that Nick has been trying to get back together with Miley ever since he split up with Selena Gomez a few months ago. Gaston was reportedly cool with Miley hanging out with her ex, but became increasingly uncomfortable with how much time they spent together.

What's more, Cyrus tweeted, "I'm in a dark theater "writing" a song with nick j who is rockin a faded eggplant shirt! :)" on Saturday. Why the need for quotation marks, Miley?
